I have several questions as far as the custody of my daughter. My husband and I are currently Legally Separated and have been since July. My husband and I agreed that I would have Sole Custody of out daughter and he would have Supervised Visitation. I want to talk with a lawyer and find out what my options are in the state of Virginia.

I am attempting to find legal aid in the matter of divorce and subsequent proceedings. I have had prelimenary hearings with regards to custody and support and I feel I am going to be rail roaded if I don’t get a lawyer.

I am looking to file for an uncontested Divorce. I have been voluntarily separated from my wife since 2002 and we are on fair terms but have yet to follow through with getting the divorce done. there is no joint property in the relationship. She has 3 children at this time but none are mine. I live in VA, but she lives in Michigan. Please contact me with any information you may be able to help me with.

I have been seperated for a total of one year alot of domestic violence in the marriage and i want to file for a divorce but i do not know where he lives or his where abouts and how long does it take for a divorce to be finalized we used to live in hanover county together that was the last place we resided as a married couple and how much will this cost me custody and support and divison of property has already been taken care of before he went to jail for hurting our child according to the jail he is now released but can not be found and i want to divorce him so my child and i can move o in life please help.

Any virginia divorce law blog – I will try to be quick. I need to know if I need a lawyer at all, and if I do – what it would cost. I don’t have much which is the whole point behind this mess.. but here is the short story. I have a 10 year old boy with a woman in VA that I was not married to. 9 years ago Commonwealth ordered me (wrong middle initial AND social on court order though) to pay 75/m child support. She got custody. I left the state and married someone else. I’m in Tenn, and for the past year or two been paying 400/m, and for the 7 or so before that 300/m. She constantly blackmails me with his visits to get what she wants (extra money, or for us to spend 80 bucks to cancel a check and wire her the money because she owes the bank and can’t cash the check). She just had a second kid with her boyfriend. HER mom, my sons grandmother, recently put braces on him. I knew nothing of it, didn’t know they were going to do it or anything. Now his mom is saying shes going to sue me for the braces and more child support. Even though she didn’t pay for them at all or tell me he needed them. I don’t mind paying for some but goodness, give a man a warning. They want 1500. At this point, I want visitation rights established. I want the order updated to the 400 I’ve been paying nd I want to pay child support through the system VA introduced in july or so of 1998. Paying her directly is way to stressful, and I’m tired of her holding his visits up here over me. Do I need an attorney to file, and/or to get visitation established? And, if not, can I file over the phone without having to travel down there? I’m in Tennessee. Any advise is welcome, please call or email as soon as you can. I for some reason feel like me asking for the update in the order would reflect better on me. Seems like the non-custodial fathers fight an uphill battle on these things. Thanks for your time.

I am married and my husband and I are having alot of communication issues, and we dont spend alot of time togather. Do to this fact I had sent him an email letting him know that we need to fix our issues and I got a reply back from him letting me know that we is only using me for his green card. Now I would like to know what would I have to do to start this divorce and how much it will cost.
